Rhode Island & Massachusetts Hardwood Flooring Installation Experts

The first rule of hardwood flooring installation is this: Make sure you need new hardwood floors to begin with. If your hardwood floors that have been sanded too many times or if the damage is too severe it may not be possible to refinish your floors.  In that instance, you’ll likely need a new prefinished, unfinished, or engineered hardwood installed. We bring this up because, frankly there are many situations that just require a hardwood floor refinish or sanding. We’ve been serving customers in Warwick, West Warwick ,East Greenwich, Barrington, Narragansett and all over RI long enough to know it’s a small state and word gets around quickly. Reputation is everything and our outstanding service and the quality of the products we use is why we’re the only one of our competitors to win Angie’s list Super Service Award for hardwood installation.

Our advice to you: Ask one of our flooring professionals about what the best solution is for your home and we’ll give you an honest answer.

Do I need a professional Hardwood Installer or can I do it myself ?

It may seem like a cheap solution to simply purchase hardwood floors and install them yourself.  While it is certainly possible to install hardwood yourself, it’s generally a better idea to hire a professional and will most likely save you money in the long run. When Ace Floors of Warwick and North Smithfield perform your installation, you aren’t just paying for the labor of hardwood floors.  You’re paying for the industry knowledge to prevent squeaks, allow for wood acclimation to prevent gaping, managing high or low points in the floor; there are dozens of little things we consider that, if overlooked, can become big problems that completely undermine the enjoyment of your hardwood floors.

Hardwood flooring installation & what you should expect

The area where the installation is taking place will need to be vacated for the entire process.  Because we complete our hardwood installation efficiently 99% of the time it is not necessary to move out of your home.  Most of our projects take anywhere from 1-2 days depending on the size of the area.  Once the wood floor itself is installed, if you are not using prestained or prefinished flooring, the new floors will need to be stained or finished.  This will take 2-3 coats, with 24 hours of drying time after the painting is completed.

Hardwood floors are meant to be lived on.  Living areas, bedrooms, foyers, staircases and home offices are all great places to install wood floors.  They hold  under traffic, provide natural insulation, and add a touch of elegance to your home.

Prices will vary based on the wood you choose and the space you’re looking to renovate. The price will also vary tween a certified professional and an unlicensed contractor with little experience. Please remember hardwood will be visible in your home for a log time. Value is more important than price. If you’re thinking about installing wood floors, chances are, you’re thinking about painting or adding wallpaper.  If this is the case, a frequently asked question is who should go first?  The painter or the contractor?

The rule of thumb is that the contractor should install the floors first.  With all the equipment around, it’s not uncommon for paint to get chipped or dented.  It may be tempting to send in the painters first to avoid paint spillage on your brand new floors, but don’t worry.  Lahttps://woodfloorsbyace.com/goes-first-painter-wood-flooring-contractor/ying down drop cloths, careful painting, and wiping up any spillage or splatter immediately will keep your floors perfectly new.  The only exception would be if the paint were being sprayed onto the walls. Spray paint can’t be wiped off, so if that’s the case, it’s best to have the painter go first.  Learn more about the interesting painter/flooring contractor relationship now!
