Installing Engineered Hardwood Flooring in Rhode Island & Massachusetts

A popular type of flooring choice for homeowners who live around moisture or the water like Warwick Neck, East Greenwich, Narragansett, Newport, or Bristol to name a few. Engineered hardwood flooring is a type of product made up of multiple layers, usually plywood, fiberboard, or hardwood. The multiple layers reinforce the hardwood and provide extra strength to wood that’s installed in places that might have problematic humidity levels or moisture.  It allows for the look of hardwood with reinforcement to make sure that the wood is not compromised.

Where in your home is engineered hardwood flooring best to use?

We are seeing more RI and MA homes creating more living space by finishing the basement.  If you are finishing a basement, or you live in an area that often experiences high humidity or moisture levels, engineered hardwood floors are a solution that allows you to get the look that you want without worrying about the potential damage to your floors typically experienced by traditional hardwood floors.

Hardwood flooring vs. engineered hardwood flooring: Our experts explain

While we can go into extreme (and complicated) details about the differences between engineered and hardwood flooring, in the end what’s most important for our Rhode Island and Massachusetts clients to remember is that:

  • Hardwood floors are a single layer product
  • Engineered hardwood floors boast multiple layers

The additional layers found in Ace’s engineered hardwood floors add support to the hardwood and prevent damage from humidity, moisture, or other potential compromising elements.  Consider this floor if your home is located along the beautiful waterways of Narragansett Bay, Mt. Hope Bay, Scituate Reservoir, Sakonnet River, Point Judith Pond, Worden Pond, or even Ninigret Pond near Charlestown.

Engineered hardwood gives you the extra strength that your home needs to make your floors last for years to come. That’s why so many of our clients, from North Providence to Jamestown, Attleboro, Fall River and beyond turn to engineered hardwood. They get the look of traditional wood, with a little added benefit.

Choosing the right flooring for your home is just the first step. Next, you have to deal with the installation process, which oftentimes is a hassle and riddled with delays as we heard from our competitors.

Not with Ace Wood Flooring!

Our promise to you is that within five days of your call then appointment, your floors will be completely installed.  We want to make sure redoing your floors is as simple and painless as possible.  Our fast and reliable service will ensure your installation process experience is carefree and our engineered flooring experts will guarantee that the results exceed your expectations.  We like to wow our customers here, check out our 5 star reviews.

While the manufacturing process is different, installing engineered hardwood isn’t that different from installing regular hardwood.  The planks still come in one piece, so you shouldn’t expect any issues or delays. We do all of the finishing off site, in our Rhode Island offices, so you won’t have to worry about the smell or the sawdust.

Our off-site approach also significantly cuts down on the time drying time, thus speeding up the installation process.

One of the reasons our RI and MA clients like hardwood flooring is because they’re able to sand and refinish these floors several times.

Here’s where hardwood is still king. Ace’s engineered flooring can be refinished at least once, but not nearly as many times as regular hardwood floors.

But have no fear! That’s why pretreatment and quality installation are so important to extend the life of your floors. If these steps are performed by a professional contractor, like Ace, then you’re sure to enjoy your new flooring for many years to come.

Let our expert contractors walk you through this unique process and help you decide if engineered hardwood is your best option. Call us today for a free quote!
