Is carpeting installation the right choice for my home?

Carpeting is warmer and cozier than hardwood flooring. When might it be your best option for flooring?

  • If you’re looking to make a room a little bit more comfortable
  • If you’re designing a room that will allow kids to play comfortably on the floors
  • If you’re looking for a less slippery surface to walk on

If the instances above apply to you, installing new carpeting might be the best choice.  Let our flooring experts in RI, or MA  help you choose the best carpeting option,  for your home.

What types of carpet choices do you offer?

Because we offer our carpeting services to so many types of homeowners in the region, we work with all possible types of carpeting. When you choose us for your carpeting needs, you’ll have a wide and varied array of carpets to choose from. We’ll even help you decide what style of carpet will suit you best, and meet the needs of your unique home.

Our options range from all cut pile carpeting options: plush, textured, cable, and frieze to loop pile options like berber or cut and loop. We’ll help you find the best option for your home.

  • Plush- This carpeting option has a smooth, even look and offers a more luxurious aesthetic to your home. But, because of the smooth finish, it can get damaged in high traffic areas.
  • Textured- Textured options are made with low density fibers of uneven heights.  Because of the uneven surface, dirt and stains are harder to see. It’s a more informal option, and it can work in any area of your home.
  • Cable- This is a great carpeting option to make a room a little more cozy. Thick, long fibers provide a soft feeling underfoot when you walk on it, but it can get matted if there’s too many people walking over it.  It’s a great option for bedrooms, but not for places in your home where a lot of traffic takes place.
  • Frieze- This carpet design has a more informal look to it. Long fibers with more twists hide footprints and other marks better than other carpeting options, and the durability means it’s a good choice for high traffic parts of your home. If the piles are longer, this carpet is usually called a “shag” rug.
  • Saxony- Saxony has longer fibers than plush carpeting, and the fibers have a twist to them that tend to show footprints and other marks more than other carpeting options.  This means it’s not great for high traffic areas or areas where there’s a lot of kid’s activity going on.
  • Berber- This is also known as “level loop” style carpeting. Berber has short looped fibers that are great for high traffic areas because they are so durable. The finished look is informal and the coloring can hide dirt and stains, but the seams are more visible because of the fiber’s height.
  • Cut and Loop– Cut and Loop is a combination of cut pile and loop pile fibers. The combination adds texture that hides footprints, stains, and dirt, which makes it a great option for highly trafficked areas.
  • Patterned Multi-Level Loop– This option is exactly what it sounds like- the loops that make up the carpet are multiple levels which adds texture to the carpet, or they can create a pattern for the carpet. It stands up well under foot traffic.

Once you decide which carpet works best for you, our professional carpet installers deployed throughout RI and MA will have your new carpeting installed within five days of your call.

The best part about installing carpet is no drying time! Once your carpet is installed, you have full reign of the new area. Just be aware that the adhesive may have an odor for up to 48 hours after the installation, and that your carpet may shed fibers for the first few days after its installation.

Most carpeting has a lifespan of about 10-12 years. Once it reaches that point, it is usually threadbare, matted, and lacking the luster of a brand new carpet.

Regular care and cleaning using vacuums or steam cleaners will help keep your carpet looking like new. Also, dealing with stains right when they happen and choosing a durable type of carpet is a great way to keep your carpeting looking newer, longer.
