Carpet Installation in Rhode Island and Massachusetts

WHY MOST CARPETS FAIL EARLY, AND WHAT YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT

The secret to long-lasting carpet… isn’t actually the carpet. Carpet, no matter how nice, is only as good as its pad. This makes it a great upsell for big-box and carpet stores. They’ll often charge you an additional $2+ per foot to upgrade from a 4 pound pad to an 8 pound pad. They don’t want you to know their cost is only about ten cents more.

We only use ONE pad here at Ace – an 8 pound pad with spillguard. We just won’t install anything less. It’s more waterproof, more water resistant, and your rug won’t wear out prematurely. We’re in it for the 10 year deal, not the 10 house deal, so we simply include this in the price.

Cut Pile Carpeting Options
  • Plush carpet has a smooth, even look and offers a more luxurious aesthetic to your home. But because of the smooth finish, it can get damaged in high traffic areas.
  • Textured carpet is made with low density fibers of uneven heights. The uneven surface makes dirt and stains harder to see. Also, It’s a bit more informal.
  • Cable carpet uses thick, long fibers provide a soft feeling underfoot. It gives a cozy feel, but can get matted in higher traffic areas. As a result, it’s a lovely option for bedrooms.
  • Frieze carpet design is durable. Long fibers with more twists hide footprints and other marks better than other carpeting options. This makes it a good choice for high traffic parts of your home. (If the piles are longer, it’s usually called a “shag” rug.)
  • Saxony carpeting has longer fibers than plush carpeting. The fibers have a twist to them that tend to show footprints and other marks. This means it’s not great for high traffic areas or areas where there’s a lot of activity going on.
Loop Pile Carpeting Options
  • Berber is also known as “level loop” style carpeting. Berber has short looped fibers that durable and great for high traffic areas. In addition, the finished look is informal and the coloring can hide dirt and stains. The seams are more visible because of the fiber’s height.
  • Cut and Loop is a combination of cut pile and loop pile fibers. The combination adds texture that hides footprints, stains, and dirt. Therefore, it’s a great option for highly trafficked areas.
  • Patterned Multi-Level Loop uses loops of multiple levels. This adds texture to the carpet, and stands up well under foot traffic.
Can I walk on my new carpet right away?

Once your carpet is installed you have free rein of the new area. The adhesive may have an odor for up to 48 hours after the carpet installation, and your carpet may shed some fibers for the first few days.

How long does carpeting last?

Most carpeting has a lifespan of about 10-12 years (with a quality pad). Signals you need a new carpet installed are usually when the carpet is threadbare, matted, and lacks the luster of a new carpet.

What can I do to keep my carpet looking new?

Vacuum and steam clean your carpet regularly. Dealing with stains right when they happen and choose a durable type of carpet.

I received 3 quotes to provide leopard print rugs on my stairs and Ace came in the quickest and the middle of the prices. Long story short everyone from the owner, Troy to the person who installed the rugs and his assistant were amazing. They stayed until the job was done and it is so beautiful I could not be happier …. I have never had such a good experience with any kind of contractor…..If I could give them more stars I would and I don’t give out stars easily.
