Hi! This is Troy with Ace Wood Floor. Today our topic is: Should I refinish my floor or not?

Quiet often, wood floors can be refinished. The average wood floor has a shelf life of 150 years. So if your house is under 150 years old, a wood floor refinishing service can usually come in and make your floors look good as new!

It’s not as costly of a project as one would think. Our estimates are usually around a couple of dollars per square foot. This is much cheaper than replacing a floor, which can cost you as much as 20 dollars a square foot.

At the end of the day, the most economical way to spruce up a house is traditionally the sanding and refinishing of a wood floor. It’s cheaper than covering up wood floor with a carpet, or painting a house. If you’re going to be selling your house, renting it, or just moving in, and you want to really spruce it up, I would recommend sanding and refinishing your wood floors.
